Transport for the North (TfN) is a unique partnership, established in October 2014, between the 19 Northern Local Transport Authorities, Department for Transport, Network Rail, High Speed 2 Ltd and Highways England. TfN allows the North to speak with a coherent and integrated approach to pan-Northern strategic transport planning and investment in order to achieve transformational economic growth.

TfN expects to gain statutory status by becoming England’s first Sub-national Transport Body (STB) in 2017. TfN is currently developing an integrated, multi-modal Strategic Transport Plan which will set the long-term sequenced investment priorities for TfN as an STB.

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), on behalf of TfN, is looking to recruit the following role:

The role - Two Year Fixed-Term Contract / Secondment (public sector bodies only):

The Project Manager – Programme Office will be a lead role in establishing TfN’s Projects Management Procedures (PMP) and Gateway Review Process, maintain an effective PMO to enable the efficient functionality of projects and Programmes and manage the delivery of designated projects to time, standard and budget.

What we’re looking for:

The successful candidate will have Demonstrable post qualification experience of successful management of complex, multi-stakeholder projects using Prince2 methodology (or recognised equivalent) and post qualification experience in successful management of a Programme Management Office
