Junior Business Analyst

You will be instrumental in identifying and scoping any new system requirements and will translate these into user stories for optimal development with the support of more senior Business Analysts and the Product Owner.

You will use your artwork or packaging industry expertise to provide elegant solutions to problems, which not only meet the users’ expectations but also enhance the wider business proposition. You will work closely with all stakeholders to ensure effective communication channels are developed and strong business relationships maintained.

You will engage continuously with the Product Owner, Business Analyst, UX Designers as well as the wider product development teams to ensure that the original intention of the user stories and features are brought to life and are correctly implemented.

What you’ll deliver:

  • Elicit system requirements through a variety of business analysis techniques; user interviews, workshops, process mapping and data modelling.
  • Create any process or system documentation such as ‘As is’ and ‘To be’ progress flows, presentations, ERDs, basic wireframes concepts.
  • Create detailed user stories in the product backlogs in collaboration with the Product Owner to ensure the feature details are correctly cascaded down to a granular level, sufficient to be worked on by the development team.
  • Work in partnership with UX Designers to drive system usability and help to support in the creation of wireframes/prototypes expressing the vision of the Product Owner and the intentions of the features.
  • Support the QA team by ensuring the acceptance criteria of the user stories are accurately depicted and can be tested against, provide as many use cases to them as possible.
  • Run any stand-up meetings for either product, and support BA and PO in Sprint Planning or Demo & Retrospective meetings.
  • Help the PO prepare for system demonstrations by updating any presentations, marketing materials and configuring workflows in either solution to match a brief.
  • Develop and maintain consistent best practice with other members of the Sun Technology team including processes, documentation and communication.
  • Learn and adhere to scrum methodology and agile development framework where possible and work with both management and peers to continually improve the process.

What knowledge and training you'll need

It’s essential that you’ve…
  • Graduate or equivalent knowledge (minimum of 2 years’ experience in a client facing role within either the FMCG or packaging industries; supply chain, structural, design or artwork led)
  • Experience in ownership of projects, and delivering to tight deadlines under pressure.
  • Process driven with an aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Great attention to detail, with a structured approach to problem solving and thinking outside the box.
  • Comfortable with the production and manipulation of documentation user requirements.
  • Excellent concise communication skills (speaking, writing, listening, presenting).
  • Flexible – Successful delivery may require working outside normal working hours and may on occasions involve international travel (Therefore current clean driving license and Passport required)
