St Mungo’s is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for people who have lived experience of homelessness, drug and / or alcohol, mental health, criminal justice and recovery services.
We are currently recruiting for an Apprentice Recovery Worker to join our Westminster Move On and Resettlement Team supporting clients across a range of semi-independent properties, helping the team to create and maintain a supportive, safe environment for clients who have complex needs including mental health, substance use, alcohol use and complex traumas.
As the Apprentice Recovery Worker, your role will be to support clients in their recovery to access support from appropriate services across Westminster drug, alcohol, mental health and recovery services, (i.e AA, NA, CA, SMART Recovery, mental health services), create a safe environment in which clients are able to build confidence, self-esteem making positive life style changes.
You will help the team to provide assessment and key-working support to clients in various stages of recovery as well as the joint facilitation of various user-led groups, promotion of volunteering and ETE opportunities and identifying, developing and maintaining relationships with external agencies.
We are looking for motivational, positive and passionate role models who will inspire and provide support to clients who have complex support needs and are ready to take the next steps in their Recovery Journey as well as working alongside individual clients to enable them to begin and maintain their progress to become active citizens, using their time purposefully.
St Mungo's Apprenticeship Scheme offers 15 months paid work, a comprehensive training programme and the opportunity to gain a Level 2 or 3 Health & Social Care qualification. There will also be on the job learning and shadowing staff; to observe how they support service-users to achieve their goals. You will be required to attend formal learning whilst working towards the qualification.
