Job title:  IT Systems Manager 
Location:  Mirfield, WF14 0DQ. (Some home working available) 
Salary:  £30,000 - £34,000  
Working hours:  Full time - 37 hours per week

Hollybank Trust provides teaching, residential care, plus a range of therapies and enrichment activities for children, young people and adults with profound and multiple disabilities. 

The needs of our children, young people and adults lie at the heart of everything we do and that is why we are in the middle of an ambitious improvement strategy, working closely with all areas of the Trust to implement new digital solutions. We have a planned commitment to improve and invest in the infrastructure, security and systems to move Hollybank forward, improve efficiencies and ultimately contribute to the excellent quality of care that we provide to our children, young people and adults.  

To help us enhance and evolve our digital strategy, we are looking to appoint an IT Systems Manager to manage our IT systems with an excellent knowledge of recent technologies to optimise our IT objectives. There will also be the opportunity to work on IT Projects and digital transformation across the Trust.  

You will have strong technical experience across a wide range of technologies and be capable of adapting to work as each initiative requires.  

 What will you be doing? 

  • You will work closely with our Managed Service Provider and IT Helpdesk Manager to oversee the efficient running of day-to-day systems, infrastructure, operations, and support.  
  • Lead on IT infrastructure upgrades, networking and system enhancements ensuring accurate, timely and efficient delivery in line with the Trust’ strategy.   
  • Manage and develop efficient IT systems to meet stakeholder requirements, advising on internal processes and designing functional specifications.  
  • Manage the ongoing development and support of the use of Atlassian products across the Trust (Jira and Confluence) including requirements gathering, business process workflows and automation. 
  • Support the Head of IT with managing Digital Transformation projects across the Trust, moving towards a Scum framework and sprint planning.
  • Manage and develop the Trust’s Disaster Recovery Planning.
  • Directly line manage the Senior IT Support Analyst, providing coaching and mentoring and sharing knowledge and experience.
  • Implement information security policies and procedures to minimise risk to data and protect against potential data breaches. 

What do you need? 

  • A recognised IT qualification. 
  • A strong hands-on technical knowledge, with the ability to step into all areas of infrastructure.  
  • Previous experience of successfully managing IT projects, including software development, networks and infrastructure. 
  • Excellent understanding of network WAN / LAN, Wireless, firewall / security technologies 
  • Knowledge of Cloud Workloads, such as SaaS, IaaS, PaaS including Microsoft 365, Azure and endpoint management.
  • Experience with IOS deployment and management highly desirable 
  • Excellent understanding of Unified Comms / Telephony
  • Excellent understanding of servers including virtualisation technologies.
  • Understanding of SQL Server and data feeds.
  • Initiative to make decisions and highlight opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills developed within a core IT environment.
