Are you committed to engaging with communities and organisations? Do you have impressive persuasive skills that would help gain support for our plans to make travel easier in Greater Manchester?

TfGM oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport projects, and it’s our experts who provide the information and analysis to shape transport strategy. This is a busy and exciting time for us under the devolution agreement as transport plays a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.

As a Stakeholder Engagement Officer you will engage and inform a wide range of audiences across Greater Manchester including businesses, public sector organisations and communities about a wide variety of transport projects and plans. These will include the Metrolink extension through Trafford Park and the construction of Tameside and Stockport Interchanges.

In this role you will work with project teams and contractors to produce accurate information in formats appropriate to the audience. You will also arrange and attend events, deliver presentations and record and respond to stakeholders’ enquiries.

You will have experience of stakeholder and community engagement, outstanding verbal and written skills and the ability to draft social media content. You will be enthusiastic and driven and be used to working to tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment. And by joining us, you will have plenty of opportunities to develop your skills and to progress your career.

If you have the skills and experience we are looking for, we would like to hear from you!

Interviews will be held on 13 and 14 December 2018.

In return, as well as a competitive salary, we also offer a range of fantastic benefits, such as:

  • Free Rail or Metrolink travel to and from work
  • Free bus travel within Greater Manchester
  • 27 days holiday per annum
  • Access to the local government pension scheme

At TfGM we encourage candidates to discuss flexible working options at any stage of the recruitment process.

The salary range for this role is £26,240 to £30,699.  Salary on appointment will be dependent upon your skills and experience. We welcome and encourage applications from everyone regardless of age, disability, gender, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation.  We are actively building a diverse workforce and want to create an inclusive environment as we recognise the importance of our workforce reflecting the communities we serve.
