Eurovision News is a premier distributor of quality news & sports content for use by EBU members and partners. The primary goal of the news unit is to serve the needs of the EBU members news community by organizing and distributing news content gathered according to Public Service Media editorial standards and principles, and to strengthen and enable the member news community wherever possible through community building, providing forums for community maintenance, knowledge and best practice, sharing and active ongoing development and collaboration.
Eurovision News provides additional services to members and clients in providing broadcast facilities and stand up positions at planned or breaking news events.
Eurovision News advocates the importance of Public Service Journalism.
Eurovision News is looking for a
Head of News

The Head of News is:
- the editor in chief for all EBU news services.
- the principle contact for all EBU News Governance, PSM news networks and journalism stakeholders.
- in charge of leading specific news related businesses.
- is the principle lead in advocating the importance of PSM journalism.
- will have permanent staff working in Geneva, Rome and Moscow.

Skills:

  • Strong managerial, organizational and planning skills
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Capability to combine both strategic and operational management Ability to build arguments
  • Good understanding of changing news markets
  • Ability to confront constructively

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree, subject: journalism

Experience
  • 15+ years of experience in the news domain
  • 8+ years of experience in an international environment
