Royal Museums Greenwich is a world-class museum campus situated at the heart of Maritime Greenwich UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our four museums include the National Maritime Museum, the Queen’s House, the Royal Observatory Greenwich and the Cutty Sark. Together our sites tell epic stories of sea and space exploration, pioneering architecture, art and British history.
The youth programme has been designed to provide opportunities for young people (aged 13-24) from the borough of Greenwich and surrounding boroughs. The programme focuses on building transferable skills, developing confidence and inspiring ownership over museum spaces, in doing so, widening participation and access to the Museums and Collections. The post-holder will join the Partnerships and Public Engagement Team.
The job role
Royal Museums Greenwich is seeking a Youth Projects Producer with significant experience in producing high-quality learning experiences for young people. This post may be suitable for someone from an arts or cultural education background, or it could provide an exciting opportunity for someone working within the youth sector.
The Youth Projects Producer will work collaboratively across all the sites managed by Royal Museums Greenwich and utilise the facilities at our collections store in Kidbrooke, managing and delivering a multi-stranded youth programme inspired by the Museums’ sites, collections and varied histories. Elements of the programme include:
- Young Creatives Half Term Projects (for young people aged 15-18 from the Greenwich borough)
- Work experience (for young people from Greenwich Pupil Referral Units)
- Making Landmarks (Working with partnership organisations supporting young people in care, young offenders and young people living with a mental health condition)
- Saturday Art Club (ages 13-16) (delivered by the freelance Saturday Art Club Tutor)
- Youth Collective and Youth Takeover event (paid opportunity for young people aged 16-24)

Terms and conditions
This is a 12 month fixed term contract. The post-holder will work 21 hours net per week (3 days per week) 9.00am to 5.00pm.
Salary: £16,333, which is pro rata of £28,000 per annum
