We are recruiting a Collections Move Manager who will work alongside and deputise for the Head of Collections Move Programme in managing our large decant team of c. 40 staff and a team of volunteers, to ensure that the collection of c.250,000 objects, 915 archives and c.350,000 library books is ready to move to the new centre, and any other agreed storage locations, within the allocated time and budget.

Working closely with the Head of Collections Management Programme, you will manage the different phases of the move and ensure that the team structure meets the requirements of the programme and is fit for purpose As the decant programme progresses, the team’s focus will move from preparation to the physical move and safe installation of the collections – including packing and transport contractor management and excellent logistical coordination with our two partner museums at Blythe House.

The post is initially based full time at Blythe House in Kensington Olympia. From c2020 the post holder will be required to work between Blythe House and the new Collections and Research Centre in Stratford, in order to prepare for and oversee the move programme. Flexible working, including early mornings or late evenings and occasional weekend working will be required during the contract.
