TfGM oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport projects, and it’s our experts who provide the information and analysis to shape transport strategy. The Innovation Team are responsible for exploring the opportunities future of mobility brings in Greater Manchester, and how new modes, models and services could enhance or change the way that we as an organisation work. From Connected Autonomous Vehicles to Mobility-as-a-Service, we’re leading the way for TfGM as one of the most pioneering transport authorities in the UK.

Due to the success of the Innovation Team within the Transport Strategy Directorate, we are now seeking a Senior Project Manager to manage the wider portfolio of activities. This role will take the lead on creating frameworks and processes, to support the implementation of the diverse range of projects within the team’s programme - mapping out risks and opportunities, planning the way forward under each innovation project, guiding TfGM on the approach it should take and setting out actions.

As Senior Project Manager you will be an effective communicator able to engage with and influence stakeholders (at all levels including with central government departments) and build effective working relationships. The role will require creating new programme management solutions, defining how to translate innovation projects into Business As Usual activity where appropriate, and ensuring that agile approaches are in place to provide programme discipline in a way that reflects the fast-changing nature of content.

You will have a sound background in project management able to manage a varied portfolio of projects to time, budget and quality standards, undertaking critical review and ensuring their successful delivery. It is also desirable for you to have a knowledge and experience of delivering practical and/ or innovative solutions.
