Our Vacancy

High Tech Sources Limited (HTSL), a division of JFN, are looking for a Service Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.

The purpose of the Service Technician is to load and unload high activity sources using the remote handling cell. To maintain an accurate inventory of all sources in the building. To service radiography projectors and other NDT equipment including X-ray. To collect and deliver goods. To ensure the warehouse is kept clean, tidy and well organised. To complete scheduled maintenance tasks each week.

Responsibilities:

• Operation of the remote handling cell to load and unload high activity sources.
• Ensure all receipts and despatches of sources are properly recorded.
• Ensure that an accurate inventory of all sources is maintained including the locations of each source within the building.
• Ensure packages for despatch are correctly labelled in accordance with the transport regulations.
• Collection and delivery of goods.
• Support in the organisation of UK collections and deliveries
• To service customer equipment at HTSL and customer sites.
• To ensure the warehouse is kept clean, tidy, and organised.
• To complete scheduled maintenance tasks.
• To demonstrate an understanding of Sentinel range of projectors and equipment including how to load and maintain them.
• To demonstrate an understanding of the safety and security aspects of handling and transporting high activity sources.
• Weekly Checks on personal electronic dosemeters, and radiation protection equipment.
• Daily Start-up and Close down of warehouse
• Support in the return of sources to original manufacturer.
• To support Transport supervisor with imports and exports.

Skills/qualifications Required

• Operation of electronic inventory control and despatch system
• Able to work accurately and methodically in a highly regulated environment
• Knowledge of radiological safety and the regulations covering high activity radiation sources.
• Knowledge of the transport regulations relating to radioactive material.
• Knowledge of the air transport of radioactive material.
• Electrical and mechanical experience
• Qualified to A level standard or equivalent.
