The Opportunity
An exciting role has arising for a Press Officer to join our dynamic PR Team to help create and implement PR campaigns designed to build and cement London’s reputation as the greatest city on earth. As a Press Officer, you will have the opportunity to work alongside colleagues across the marketing and communications function, plus key external stakeholders to implement the tourism PR strategy and deliver a regular flow of positive media coverage to enhance the city’s international reputation as a top visitor destination and as a centre for business, talent and creativity.

Key responsibilities
Media Relations:
- To help devise and implement proactive PR campaigns in support of London & Partners’ business plan with a focus on tourism; providing creative input and ideas and conducting research as required
- Drafting media materials and statements; organising media interviews and interview briefing materials
- Building and maintaining relationships with key journalists, partners, stakeholders and external agencies, including proactively creating and managing media lists
- Pitching media campaigns, stories and interviews to domestic and international journalists
- Facilitating press trips and hosting media visits as required
- Supporting wider marketing & communications teams as required
- Acting as on duty / out of hours press officer as part of the PR team rota
Social Media:
- Utilising specialist knowledge, contribute to the development of London & Partners’ social media strategy
- Compile and implement a programme of content for social media to support the organisation’s promotional and brand objectives
- Monitor and measure the impact of the organisation’s social media activity
Administration:
- Monitor and manage press coverage alongside our two media monitoring agencies and compile coverage reports for high profile projects
- Review media lists and ensure they are upto date
- Compile regular newsletters
You'll Have:
Knowledge and experience
- Solid experience gained in either a busy press office / media relations team, or a background in journalism
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the domestic and international media environment
- Ability to build and maintain a network of media contacts
- An understanding of the issues facing the tourism sector in London and the city more broadly
- Experience of building effective relationships at all levels and managing complex stakeholder relationships

- Digital skills, including an understanding and effective experience of using social media platforms
