We currently have an exciting vacancy for a Sales & Events Assistant to join our team.

The Role:

You will be responsible for all sales and administration associated with weddings, safaris, corporate, private and site wide events, group bookings and gift experiences.  As part of the Sales & Events team, you will also handle all inbound enquiries through the Zoo’s switchboard and website. 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of working in a high volume customer enquiry setting
  • Experience of face to face and telephone sales and booking systems, ideally Microsoft Access
  • The ability to work without close supervision
  • Good organisational skills and have a flexible approach to ensure that deadlines and service delivery are met
  • The ability to work collectively with the team to achieve targets adhering to operational procedures and safe working practices
  • A ‘can do’ attitude and have the commitment to getting the job right
  • A good level of computer literacy and be competent in the use of Microsoft Office programmes
  • An eye for detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A good standard of education, including Maths & English

Previous experience of working in an events or planning role would be an advantage.

Salary is £16,727.55 per annum working 37.5 hours per week, 10 days out of 14 set on a rota basis. Candidates are expected to have a flexible attitude to work to enable cover within the busy department as week day, weekend and Bank Holiday working is required plus occasional evening work may be necessary.
