East Metro Youth Services, Toronto Lead Agency and a fully accredited Children’s Mental Health Centre serving adolescents and their families in East Toronto for over 40 years, is inviting applications for the following full time contract positions:


Project Coordinator: Lead Agency Consortium and Primary Care Pilot Project

Part-Time Contract Position at 22.5 hours/week until March 2018



The Project Coordinator supports two initiatives:

  • The Lead Agency Consortium – which is the network of child and youth mental health agencies identified by the government as lead agencies in their communities; and,
  • Walking the path: An applied research pilot to improve service pathways between primary care and community-based child and youth mental health services.

 

The projects are based on external funding from the Lead Agency Consortium and the Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health.  Approximately 2/3 of the time will be spent on Consortium work; approximately 1/3 on the Walking the Path project.

 

For both projects, the incumbent will have demonstrated experience in project management and coordination, excellent communication (both verbal and written), presentation and networking skills; and demonstrated skills in partnership and relationship development.



Responsibilities:

  • Schedules and facilitates meetings, including site visits, advisory committee meetings and meetings of the Consortium and its committees.
  • Coordinates focus groups; recruitment, scheduling, honorariums
  • Provides administrative support to project leads, managers, and Consortium executive coordinator
  • Collects, compiles and summarizes information required for project activities
  • Assists with the identification of lead agency leading and innovative practices; researches the initiatives and documents these initiatives for distribution among lead agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Maintains project timelines and tracks deliverables for workload and performance measurement purposes
  • Assists in drafting, producing and sharing of reports on pilot activities
  • Provides regular updates to the pilot leads on a scheduled and ad hoc basis
  • Supports the development of a report on provincial priorities related to implementing Moving On Mental Health. This may include data gathering and analysis, writing, report production and dissemination.
  • Fosters relationships with community partners and lead agencies through the planning and coordination of meetings and through regular communication
  • Contributes to the pilot’s evaluation activities, including facilitating data collection, developing survey tools, collating and interpreting results to support program improvement
  • Supports other related tasks to as they emerge

 

The ideal candidate will have:

 

  • Bachelor degree in health or social sciences or other appropriate combinations of education and experience
  • Experience in administration and/or project coordination
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional communication with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders with all levels of staff and provincial governments
  • High degree of knowledge of community-based child and youth mental health services and primary care partners in the community
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Police Record Check
