This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new and innovative service.

St Mungo’s Housing First service in Bournemouth, provides intensive personalised support to clients who would not typically be deemed as ‘housing ready’.  It focuses on finding these individuals  long-term accommodation first (sourced by Bournemouth Borough Council) and then addressing the issues that contributed to their homelessness.  By adopting a flexible, creative and personalised approach, Bournemouth Housing First aims to support individuals to manage their tenancies in the community and improve their quality of life.

As the post –holder, you will be responsible for the day to day delivery of the service managing a small caseload of clients. You will deliver ongoing and intensive support to help your clients set up their home, with the overall goal of supporting them to sustain their tenancy and achieve individual goals and aspirations. The support offered will be in the tenant’s home as well as in the community.

To succeed, you will have experience of helping homeless or vulnerably housed people with an understanding of the issues faced by them and the difficulties they experience in accessing services.   You will also have understanding of the issues involved in providing support to people with complex support needs; including mental/physical health needs and alcohol and/or substance dependency.

The ability to work independently and be comfortable lone working, when required is also essential. As is the ability to maintain enthusiasm for working with a challenging client-group, while providing the consistently high levels of support they may require.

Core hours are 9.00am - 5.00pm, however there will be some evening and weekend work required dependent on the needs of the service.
