The role - Working on the electrical and mechanical systems for a range of BMW & MINI models, every day will be different. You’ll inspect components for wear and tear, carry out technical maintenance, repair or replace parts, as well as verifying vehicle functions and their subsystems and ensure all work is completed safely, to the highest standards and to customers’ satisfaction.
Your profile - Your technical or vocational training in an automotive retailer or similar environment will be backed by experience working with prestige vehicles. We’ll also expect you to be a team player who’s can mentor and work with new colleagues and apprentices. A full driving licence is essential.
Detailed Responsibilities
To carry out Services, Pre Delivery Inspections & MOT tests
- Carrying out those activities as are specified on the relevant schedule
- Ensuring all the scheduled activities are carried out, designating this on the applicable documentation &/or system including recording the time taken & parts & consumables used
- Reporting faults/problems found outside the scheduled activity & seeking authorisation to proceed with rectification work if appropriate
To Diagnose, report & rectify vehicle faults & problems,
- Carrying out such activities utilising department diagnostic & analytical equipment & methodologies with recourse to Franchise supplied equipment & systems if appropriate
- Seeking advice from Service Management & from Franchise technical support if unable to diagnose fault
- Reporting cause & effect of problem & ascertaining estimated cost to repair seeking authorisation to proceed & ordering
To update personal knowledge
- Keeping abreast of new products & technical diagnostic methodologies as are relevant to the customer base & released on bulletins, information sheets, manuals & systems, processes & briefings
- Attending Franchise & in-house training courses, seminars & briefings as are relevant
- Eliciting technical help & advice from specialists as required, incorporating methods & techniques learned into personal working competences
To deliver quality work in a safe & efficient way
- Ensuring that all work is carried out to given safety standards, specialist tools & equipment is used safely & correctly, that the work area is kept clean & tidy throughout & removed parts & consumables are disposed of as per rules according to their status (eg: waste or warranty)Ensuring the cleanliness & security of vehicles worked on, utilising covers & security processes regarding property as appropriate
We offer a competitive salary with a Target Earning of up to £40,000 (depending on qualifications and experience)
