Our team in the Middle East are primarily focussed on construction related testing and instrumentation. The company is involved with on-site measurement and testing during foundation works, all the way through to life cycle structural monitoring systems, for buildings, bridges, tunnels, ports and railways.

We are seeking an inspiring, self motivating and experienced business development manager to help manage the grow our business in the GCC region, building good relationships with key accounts and continually looking for new opportunities.

Job Purpose

Develop our network of customers and partners within the construction and engineering sector in the UAE and GCC region. Manage their own pipeline and client relationships.

Identify and deliver long-term strategic client and channel relationships for our business. Undertake strategic customer visits to bring on new customers as well as developing existing relationships, developing and managing the network and proactively identifying opportunities by following projects.

Take responsibility for developing technical proposals, quoting at profitable levels and following up once quoted, taking projects through to go-live phase and working closely with our Delivery team to ensure smooth execution.

Take ownership for customer relationships, acting as the ‘voice of the customer’ internally to ensure the customer experiences quality service from us at all times.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Ensure Health & Safety and Quality standards are adhered to
  • Support the Business Development team and wider team in devising, implementing, monitoring and executing the sales strategy
  • Understand and interpret customers’ technical requirements/ objectives; determine appropriate technical solutions
  • Prepare customer technical / commercial proposals. Peer review proposals prepared by others. Technical sign-off for proposals/ reports as required.
  • Proactively seek out opportunities for potential work by identifying new target customers, new target regions and new target projects as appropriate and prioritise opportunities to align with company strategy
  • Establish and maintain effective links (formal and informal) with key decision-makers and stakeholders. Build up annual proactive visit/meeting plans with key target stakeholders.
  • Proactively seek out and report back market intelligence in relation to competitors, changes in the market, technical standards etc.
  • Represent the company at technical and trade events.

Qualifications, Skills and Experiences

  • Engineering degree or equivalent, and/or Chartered or Incorporated Engineer.
  • Experience (5 years plus) of engineering either consultant, contractor or sales in the two categories
  • Proven GCC experience
  • High level market knowledge of GCC growth strategies
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluent in Arabic would be desirable but not essential
  • Attention to detail

  • Must be a team player
  • IT literate
  • Presentation skills

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years in the GCC Middle East region.

Minimum of 5 years experience in a sales or business development role.

Languages: Essential - fluent English. Desirable - Arabic, Hindi
