HR Director: A highly organised, commercially astute HR Director, preferably with a blend of public and private sector experience & exemplary communication skills, is required to provide both hands-on and strategic leadership for a leading not-for-profit public-private partnership, funded by the Mayor of London and a network of commercial partners.

London & Partners is London’s international trade, investment and promotion agency. To succeed in this 80% role the ideal HR Director will have a naturally engaging, diplomatic and easy communication style with a solid HR grounding as part of a broad, generalist background. Previous team management experience, the ability to develop and implement people-focused HR initiatives and contribute to long-term goals around business and people development are essential requirements of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team to develop an HR Vision and Strategy along with a practical roadmap which aligns to the corporate strategy and business objectives
  • Demonstrate a firm commitment to quality and high performance
  • Leading the organisation’s HR department, including talent acquisition, learning and development, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, talent management HR information systems (HRIS), payroll and financial planning of the department, including across territories
  • Liaising directly with the Management Committee and being accountable for the performance of the HR function and the suppliers to HR, as well as providing strategic counsel on all people matters
  • Taking oversight of the company’s culture, managing employee expectations and promoting cross-functional integration
  • Managing the complete employment lifecycle regarding processes and employment law obligations
  • Developing company wellbeing, health and counselling policies
  • Leading the analysis of employee feedback and data, with the aim of creating a better working environment and engaged culture
  • Creating and managing the HR department’s annual budget
  • Global responsibility for the organisations’ talent functions and culture across territories
  • Managing payroll information and sourcing and managing providers across territories and currencies

 

 

Skills & Experience

  • CIPD qualified, ideally with a clear understanding of private and public sector
  • High level of emotional intelligence with the ability to influence, motivate and inspire
  • The ability to navigate our public-private partnership organisation
  • Diplomatic natural people leader with strong organisational skills
  • Strategic focus and credible delivery style
  • Flexible, adaptable and pragmatic
  • Clear and engaging communication skills. (verbal and written)
  • Commercial acumen and integrity
