Royal Museums Greenwich (RMG) illustrate for everyone the importance of the sea, ships, time and the stars.  Comprising the National Maritime Museum, the Royal Observatory Greenwich, the Queen’s House and Cutty Sark, RMG cares for some of the UK’s most significant artistic, scientific and historical collections and historically important buildings and ships.  Welcoming over 2.5 million visitors per year, we are one of the UK’s top 10 visitor attractions, drawing an audience from around the globe to experience everything from Nelson’s Trafalgar uniform or a world-class art collection to standing on the Meridian Line.

The Development Team secures vital income through donations, grants and sponsorship to ensure that Royal Museums Greenwich can meet its aims. Led by the Head of Development, the team of 10 comprises specialists in individual giving, trusts and statutory grants and corporate partnerships.

The Patrons Manager plays a vital role in raising philanthropic income that, in particular, is unrestricted and supports the RMG’s most important projects.  This role also delivers the highest standards of donor stewardship with the aim of generating renewed support and attracting new donors.  It is inevitable that the prospecting and cultivating process may lead to philanthropic support by an individual without them becoming a Patron and to that extent this role needs to have an understanding of the broader range of individual giving opportunities and be able to help the individual support RMG in the most appropriate way for the individual.

Terms and Conditions:

The post holder will work a 36 hour week, core hours 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday with an additional hour to be working in agreement with line management.

Salary: £28,500
