Teacher of Design & Technology: Textiles (maternity cover)

We are looking for an inspiring Teacher of Design & Technology: Textiles to join our department on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. You will be expected to carry out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with the College’s policies under the direction of the Headmaster. We teach Design and Technology which includes a full range of specialisms at KS3, Design and technology timbers at KS4 and GCSE Art and Design: Textiles. You will teach a full range of pupils from 1st form to 6th form.

Teaching at LWC requires that members of the academic staff be willing to contribute fully to the life of the College. This includes tutoring, co-curricular involvement, boarding house duties, cover duties and attending parents’ evenings for the year groups taught. Liaison with parents is included in the sphere of the teacher’s responsibilities.

In the Design and Technology department there are 4 full-time members of staff and 1 technician. We have 2 fully equipped workshops, textiles workshop and a design classroom all with Smartboards.

All workshops are equipped with various essential machinery along with Laser cutters and 3d printers where our students use sketch up, tinker CAD, Tech soft design and Fusion.
