Barnet Youth Offending Service (YOS) is committed to ensuring that all young people succeed and reach their full potential with the primary objective being to prevent offending and re-offending by children and young people through the provisions of effective services.

We are currently recruiting two YOS Operational Team Managers (Court Lead and Social Care Lead) to support and manage the operational delivery of a high-quality youth justice service. You will work alongside the management team and support the Service Manager, Head of Service and Director for Children’s Social Care, Early Help & Safeguarding to ensure that services are delivered in line with local and national standards, that practice is safe and effective as required by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 and related legislation and guidance. 

The successful candidate will be innovative and possess a ‘can do attitude’ with a proven record of delivering high quality services and interventions to a very vulnerable cohort of young people in partnership with a wide range of different agencies and organisations.

It is also essential that you possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework and policies related to safeguarding and the youth justice system.

In addition, you must be able to provide evidence of your ability to lead, motivate, work with partner agencies (i.e. Police, Court, Social Care, Probation, Education, Health) and manage multi-disciplinary staff teams in a range of work environments and contexts.

Candidates should have qualifications in any of the following professions: Social Work (HCPC registered) Probation, Education or equivalent.

A management training qualification alongside significant demonstrable experience within the Youth Justice Sector would also be considered.
