Are you looking to take your first steps in a career in Projects? Do you enjoy working with others, taking an organised approach to tasks and providing a high standard of support to colleagues?

TfGM oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport projects, and it’s our experts who provide the information and analysis to shape transport strategy. This is a busy and exciting time for us: under the devolution agreement and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.

Following recent internal progression, we have an opportunity for a Project Co-ordinator to join the Projects Group department on a permanent basis, we also have a temporary role until 31 December 2019. You will support the management of projects and programmes in accordance with TfGM’s Project and Programme Management Procedures, allowing you to gain experience in formal project management processes and techniques.

As a Project Co-ordinator you will provide support to project teams and senior management within Projects Group. This will include providing support through the creation, maintenance and collation of project information for use in processes such as project submissions for funding approval, monthly project reporting reviews, and the control of all supporting project delivery related information. Support to project teams will also include administration support to financial reporting and the procurement of goods and services in accordance with TfGM procedures, using SAP to raise and receipt orders. You will also be responsible for organising internal and external meetings, as required by project teams, and will assist with the preparation and dissemination of departmental-wide information.

You will have experience of producing and collating reports and will have the ability to prioritise tasks and manage your time to meet deadlines. Good communications skills are essential in order to work effectively with colleagues across the business. It is also important that you are able to make a positive contribution to team working, through being a strong team player, with equal ability to work effectively both on your own initiative and without close supervision.

The salary range for this role is £21,214 - £22.947 per annum. Salary on appointment will be dependent upon your skills and experience.

In return, as well as a competitive salary, we also offer a range of fantastic benefits, such as:

  • Free Rail or Metrolink travel to and from work
  • Free bus travel within Greater Manchester
  • 27 days holiday per annum
  • Access to the local government pension scheme

At TfGM we encourage candidates to discuss flexible working options at any stage of the recruitment process.

We welcome and encourage applications from everyone regardless of age, disability, gender, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation.  We are actively building a diverse workforce and want to create an inclusive environment as we recognise the importance of our workforce reflecting the communities we serve.

If you believe you have the skills, qualities and experience required for this role we would like to hear from you!
