At St Mungo’s our No Second Night Out (NSNO) service, aims to rapidly intervene so that no one needs to sleep rough. We have expanded our work in our assessment hubs and staging posts to ensure that as many rough sleepers as possible receive a rapid response, a full assessment of their needs and an offer of help to move away from rough sleeping. We believe that rough sleeping is harmful and dangerous and are committed to ensuring that no one need sleep rough in London.

As a Reconnection Advisor you will provide support, advice and interventions to help end peoples’ rough sleeping. You will undertake case work and ongoing assessment with individuals with complex cases; taking responsibility for their rapid reconnection into appropriate accommodation. You will also process referrals from our Assessment Hubs and outreach teams and work closely with local authorities, other housing providers, landlords and charities to identify and improve pathways out of rough sleeping.

We are looking for a dynamic and creative individual who wants to be part of this groundbreaking project and who ideally has, experience of working with vulnerable people or an understanding of the needs of street homeless people. You will also have excellent communication and negotiating skills and the ability to work in a busy, fast paced environment. Knowledge of the range of drug and alcohol services and welfare benefits and housing law relevant to single homeless people, is also essential.
