Digital Business Partner

Reference: MAR20214579
Expiry date: 23:59, 11 April 2021
Location: Flexible
Salary: £32,400.00 - £35,944.00 Per Annum
Benefits: Pension, Life Assurance, 26 days Annual Leave

As the RSPB's Digital Business Partner, you'll help drive the direction of digital technology within the organisation.

Working with the Senior Digital Business Partner, you will help to develop strong and mutually beneficial working relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation. From these relationships, you will ensure the department has an early understanding of the areas of the business that could really benefit from technology.

You will be an essential conduit and support service for information about digital technology around the entire organisation, helping resolve technology-related queries and gaining a clear understanding of where assistance and communication is required.

What is the role about?

Being the ‘ears of the Digital Technology (DT) department’, you will spend much of your time ‘horizon scanning’ – i.e. talking to people to ascertain their needs for projects that may have a digital technology requirement, whilst talking to others about their work and objectives to see how DT could help them. You will track and communicate the information you find in regular feedback meetings.

You will spend time keeping up-to-date with the RSPB and Technology strategies and activities, through meetings and correspondence, as well as maintaining an understanding of ongoing projects within DT in order to relay information to the rest of the organisation and ensure your recommendations are aligned with the strategic outcomes.

You will be working in a fast-moving environment, helping field and respond to multiple ad hoc queries (outside of the service desk) through a variety of channels, such as Yammer, email and chat; helping guide the organisation to the help they need, whether it be signposting or helping analyse requirements for a potential new project.

You will help devise innovative ways to engage with the whole organisation, to allow people to self-serve for DT needs and consider forums to bring together similar needs.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

You will have experience of IT, with an understanding of several disciplines, processes and systems, and a passion for helping innovative solutions and exciting new technologies come to life. You will also:

  • Be an excellent communicator, especially a strong listener
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude, be super-efficient and an excellent multi-tasker
  • Have exceptional time management and organisational skills
  • Enjoy multiple, frequent, wide-ranging stakeholder interactions and a very varied role
  • Have the ability to negotiate and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Be a strong advocate of digital literacy and change and lead by example
  • Be personable, helpful and approachable

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Have a wide-ranging experience and knowledge of digital technology
  • Have experience in devising and following process
  • Have a passion for helping develop innovative solutions
  • Have experience in internal communications planning
  • Be a nature lover!
