• Could you oversee the development and implementation of an accessible, inclusive cycling events framework for the region that serves the needs of our current members, and inspires others to compete?
• Can you adapt your style and approach as required to work with different delivery partners, across a portfolio of types of events that cater for the needs of a range of age groups, levels of cycling experience and ability, across gender, and in different environments?
• Can you create capacity and capability in others?
• Do you have skills that will contribute to the wider delivery of the North East Region Plan (see attached) as part of a small high performing team of staff and volunteers?

We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join us as a Regional Events Officer - North East  

The role is mainly home-based, with some travel to events and other locations, covering a large geographical area, you’ll need to be organised, flexible and positive with a ‘can do’ approach, able to prioritise and work in a fluid, evolving environment. You’ll bring both ideas and solutions, and as a do-er, you’ll make things happen. We have an urgent need to recruit, so therefore have a strong preference for someone who can hit the ground running, so you’ll either need to have great prior knowledge across the role profile, and events delivery for cycling, or the skillset to pick up any areas of development very quickly.

The role is initially on a 12 month fixed term basis due to our funding cycles, but with the aspiration for the role to be retained.

You’ll build and sustain strong effective working relationships at all levels across British Cycling. You’ll identify areas for development and develop potential recommendations overcoming barriers and developing relationships. In return for delivering consistent results, you’ll receive the opportunity to learn and develop, as well as exciting opportunities to broaden your role and potentially move around the organisation.
