EDS Group is a leading authority in the design, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of high voltage windfarms. Mainly operating in the UK and Europe, EDS has been serving renewables for over a decade and impacting every stage of the wind farm lifecycle.

As Lead SAP, you will ensure that Transmission Assets operated and maintained by EDS achieve above target and best in class for operational performance. You will be the centre of excellence for Transmission Asset Management (O&M) within the business, and the industry sector, and provide support into other areas of the EDS Group. As an authorised EDS 400kV SAP you will be on call to support all the 24/7 OFTO O&M contracts and  you will manage the interface with NG ESO and the Generator.

Key Responsibilities

  • As part of an operational team, you will support the on-call rota and be required to attend site during network fault and emergency scenarios.
  • Develop and maintain the O&M aspects of the EDS OFTO Business Management System to include:
    • Safe System of Work including HV Safety Rules, Work control procedures
    • Operational Procedures including the delivery of System Operator Transmission Operator Code requirements with the National Electricity Transmission System Operator.
    • Event Response and Management – Emergency Response, Environmental Incident Response, Contingency and Disaster Recovery Plans
    • Implementation of the Asset Management Plan
    • Monitoring of the NEDeRs system to receive and generate (as appropriate) asset health alerts
    • Performance Measures, Management audit and Controls
    • Compliance with Legislation and Original Equipment Manufacturer requirements including ESQCR.
  • Plan the maintenance activity and outages, interfacing with Subcontract chain, the OFTO, Generators and NETSO.
  • Manage the lifecycle of the Strategic, Operational and Consumable Spares.
  • Manage the lifecycle of OFTO asset data, drawings and documents to ensure correct and timely delivery of planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure all statutory inspections and testing is carried out in a timely manner
  • Encourage and integrate innovation and cost-effective working methods.
  • Provide support to the OFTO in the event of a major incident.
  • In conjunction with the OFTO General Manager, deliver the necessary timely and pertinent reports, including budgets and forecasts of regulatory out performance, profitability, operational performance and cash flow of the asset unit, demonstrating delivery of improvements in costs, commercial operating and safety standards.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience of developing and managing operational teams in, preferably, a transmission or distribution context.
  • 400/275/132kV SAP, with the requirement to become authorised under the EDS HV Safety rules.
  • In depth technical knowledge of Transmission networks particularly the UK and Europe. Or can demonstrate a high degree of technical competence within their field of experience
  • High degree of technical knowledge and analytical skills required to deliver world class Transmission Asset Management performance
  • This role requires a high degree of integrity and a flexible approach to achieving objectives through others and by influencing others
  • Full UK driving license

Desirable:

  • Experience within a transmission operator environment, preferable in the UK or can demonstrate working within highly regulated, procedure driven controlled environments.
  • Experience within the UK transmission business
  • IOSH / NEBOSH qualified
