EDS Group is a leading authority in the design, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of high voltage windfarms. Mainly operating in the UK and Europe, EDS has been serving renewables for over a decade and impacting every stage of the wind farm lifecycle. 

As our HV Project Engineer in the EDS Commissioning Department, you will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and safety.  The candidate will have a background in projects, engineering, condition monitoring, HV safety and analysis of HV assets.  Project engineering and management of HV infrastructure installation, commissioning, O&M and testing will be core to the role.  Work may be carried out onshore or offshore, therefore there is a requirement to go offshore and to site with this position.

Key Accountabilities


•    Assist Project Managers and Commissioning Business Manager in effectively managing operational delivery of large-scale projects. Managing project team and interfacing with the administration team to deliver to clients KPI’s whilst maintaining Health, Safety and Quality. 
•    Take part in regular meetings with Project Admin, Project Co-ordinators, Project Managers, Client, and contractors to review project progress and resolve issues.
•    Understanding the deliverables and scope as agreed per contract with the client, this being communicated to the HV Project Engineer by the Project Manager/Commissioning Business Manager. 
•    Responsible for the activities and control of site management and operations. 
•    Act as a Senior Authorised Person, as and when required.
•    Train as an EDS Commissioning Engineer.
•    Complete technical report writing and presentations to asset owner when required.
•    Develop project-specific procedures for the implementation of work to be carried out by onshore and offshore personnel in accordance with EDS/client/industry minimum standards. This will include interfacing directly with clients and subcontractors.
•    Provide technical assistance to all personnel to permit work to be implemented in accordance with approved procedure to the company’s minimum standard.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential

•    Previous HV engineering experience in a project and/or operation-based environment.
•    Currently authorised as a Senior Authorised Person.
•    Previous experience installing, operating and maintaining HV infrastructure/systems.
•    HV asset data analysis and technical report writing skills.
•    Previous experience interfacing with a customer delivering a scope to an agreed schedule and budget.
•    Previous experience defining technical specifications, conducting technical reviews of submissions and awarding procurement activities to preferred bidders.
•    Experience as a site leader of HSE culture and best practice.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and common IT practices.
•    Valid Driving License.
•    Valid UK Passport.

Desirable

•    Previous experience working as a HV engineer in the offshore wind industry and authorised under an asset’s applicable Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules.
•    NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety
•    Experience of HV testing in a fault and emergency environment in the offshore wind industry.
•    Project Management qualification (PFQ, PMQ, PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent).
•    Previous experience in the construction/commissioning of primary and secondary systems on HV networks
•    Previous experience of the following testing methods: Insulation Resistance, Continuity, Time Domain Reflectometry, HV Bridge etc.

Qualifications

•    It is desirable for candidates to be Degree qualified in an electrical engineering discipline; however demonstrable industry experience is equally valid in conjunction with applicable engineering qualifications.
•    Ability to meet the requirements of GWO/O&G Offshore Medical and survival certificates are essential
