This role is responsible for implementing the practices and processes necessary to achieve our target of net zero by 2035, and for driving cultural and behavioural change throughout the organisation, particularly at senior level. Reporting directly to the Executive Board and building a strong relationship with Trustees, the post-holder will help shape strategic decision making and powerfully influence the future of the organisation, embedding environmental responsibility as a priority in every area.

The successful candidate will introduce clear and consistent monitoring and reporting, to allow the V&A to make changes or introduce new measures swiftly and effectively when needed. They will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all related environmental policies and regulations and will be our key point of liaison with relevant external bodies and working groups, as well as acting as a spokesperson and ambassador for the museum on issues of Sustainability. By building knowledge in every department, this role will maintain and develop an existing network of sustainability coordinators, who will collectively instil robust systems of responsibility and accountability at every level.
