It is the oldest institution of its kind in the world and has been at the forefront of training leaders in global health since 1898. The Department of Vector Biology is at the forefront of vector biology research. Our diverse portfolio encompasses understanding the genomics and behaviour of disease vectors to implementing innovative tools for disease control. With a mission to combat vector-borne diseases affecting the world's most vulnerable populations, our department pioneers research in genomics, vector behaviour, and disease ecology, driving impactful interventions against diseases like malaria, sleeping sickness, and dengue.
