Youth Offending Service Clinical Practitioner (Clinical Psychologist or equivalent)

Children, young people mental health services

An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a full time enthusiastic and energetic clinical practitioner from a clinical psychology or equivalent background to join Barnet’s Integrated Clinical Services (BICS). BICS is a strong, friendly, dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary service and is the main provider of mild-to-moderate mental health services for children and young people in London Borough of Barnet.

You will be seconded in the Youth Offending Service where your primary role will be to carry out consultations, highly specialised clinical assessments and interventions within an integrated multi-agency team who manage young people who are subject to statutory court orders. Your work would entail working with young people who are presenting with complex risks and vulnerabilities and their immediate families and wider support systems.

You will liaise with partner agencies, such as Specialist CAMHS, forensic colleagues, community and voluntary services. This role would be particularly suited to a driven individual with a passion for making a difference and for further developing skills within a YOS and mental health setting with children and young people.

We value and encourage your continuing professional development and will support you with experienced clinical supervision and oversight from the BICS clinical manager and plenty of training opportunities. You will be part of the wider BICS Clinical Social Care Team and participate in regular team meetings and case discussions in addition to YOS meetings.

If shortlisted you will be required to bring photographic ID to your interview to prove your identity.

Barnet is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Barnet operates stringent safer recruitment procedures.
