DevOps Engineer

Lush Technology - Engineering Department

London

LUSH Digital offers a range of exciting online and in store experiences for our customers. Developers of many disciplines are responsible for creating and developing new innovations in technology, as well as providing and maintaining a global digital estate across multiple platforms and devices.

We are now looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our expanding Digital team in Beak Street London.

We love open source! The Cloud Native Computing Foundation is always our first port of call when a requirement for a new tool comes up. Wherever we can, the code we produce is made public for all to use.

As the DevOps Engineer you will be collaborating with our Engineers to deploy and operate the global digital infrastructure. Building and maintaining the tools for deployment and monitoring operations whilst troubleshooting and solving any problems the engineering team may face whilst getting their code in front of its users.

We would like to see knowledge of the latest DevOps tools and practices, as well as Scripting experience with Shell, Go, Python or Bash. With a clear understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, Continuous Delivery.
Having previous knowledge of automation/infrastructure within a Cloud environment using a platform such as AWS (Amazon Web Services) or GCP (Google Cloud Platform) would be beneficial.

You will have experience with version control systems such as GIT, experience with database technologies such as MySQL, MariaDB, Cassandra or Postgres.

Ideally, you’ll have experience of continuous integration tooling with Gitlab Pipelines and Google Container Engine or similar, application profiling and debugging tools including Prometheus/Grafana and an understanding of microservice based architectures (SOA) and large-scale distributed systems.

We're hiring for people at all skill levels, and will bring you up on any technologies you'll need to know to do your best work with us.

We like to give something back!

20% Time is equivalent to 1 day per week (we're trying Fridays), where we all work on personal projects that are way off the company roadmap. It was popularised by Google, whose team created - among other things - Maps, Docs, Gmail, AdSense and News, all in their 20% time; a product lineup that represents 50% of their major product offering.

As we pride ourselves on internal development, priority will be given to candidates who have an in depth knowledge of Lush coupled with the relevant experience and qualifications.

Are you an innovative, quick thinking problem solver with a vision for web engineering solutions? We would love to hear from you!
