Property Officer (Real Lettings - NHPF) - Bristol

6 month FTC beginning April 2018

Part-time: 18.75 hrs per week

£21,268 - £24,174 per annum (pro rata)


We are looking for a Real Lettings Officer to join our National Homelessness Property Fund team in Bristol that currently manages 70 properties as part of a portfolio of over 160 properties in Bristol, Milton Keynes and Oxford.

 
The role will require you to provide a high quality customer focused service to our tenants, and all internal and external partners or organisations working with Real Lettings. You will need to deliver effective tenant support and assist with all aspects of positive tenancy sustainment.


You will be responsible for working with the Senior Housing Management and Lettings officer to assess new tenant referrals for void properties; organising and carrying out new tenant sign ups; attending properties for tenant inductions, void inspections and 12 month tenancy reviews. You will also support tenants at key intervals during their tenancy to develop and action move-on plans and promote Real Lettings service and cross-organisation initiatives such as volunteer schemes, mentoring or internal client services offers to increase tenant move-on, signposting to other organisations or agencies as needed.

To be successful in this role you will need to have experience of working with low (or no) income families and/or a housing management/private sector lettings background. You should have an understanding of the needs and support requirements of families on low (or no) incomes, the skills and knowledge required to support tenants to sustain their tenancies, an understanding of landlord health and safety responsibilities and the issues involved in monitoring rent payments, housing benefit claims, and dealing effectively with arrears.
