Business Development Executive

British Cycling is considered the best in the world in international competition. We now have an exciting new opportunity for an appropriately experienced individual who has the passion and integrity to work diligently and collaboratively supporting the day to day management of developing and maximising British Cycling’s commercial opportunities, working closely with the Senior Commercial Partnerships Manager and potential new partner companies, and agencies across British Cycling and the Great Britain Cycling Team.

 

The role of the Business Development Executive includes:

  • Providing day to day pipeline management of new business leads maintaining the progression of target clients through the sales process.
  • Supporting the Senior Commercial Partnerships Manager with the engagement of contracted sponsorship agencies to ensure they are fully resourced and aligned to the British Cycling business development strategy
  • Input to, and ownership of, key internal business reporting regarding new business development and revenue generation on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
  • Coordinating market research into target brands in specified categories, for example gaining knowledge of marketing and communications strategies, key decision makers and budget holders of a target brand
  • Writing of briefs to enable the British Cycling marketing team to create ‘industry leading’ sales assets to attract, engage and win new business.

 

What you need:

  • Ability to develop key relationships, and holds experience working within a sales environment in the sporting or leisure industry
  • Able to work to a high standard with in tight deadlines while maintaining a precise eye for detail and accuracy
  • Project management and reporting experience
  • Knowledge of the ever-evolving Sports Sponsorship landscape
  • An ability to follow through and accurately complete tasks under pressure
  • Good mental agility, capable of using initiative
  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • IT literate- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • A genuine interest in cycling and wider business of sport
  • Enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn
