Job Title:         Lecturer in Electrical Engineering             

Contract:       Permanent, Full Time

Salary:            £21,137 - £41,599 per annum

Location:       Cardiff and the Vale

 

Cardiff and Vale College is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering based within the Faculty of Technology City Centre Campus but with the expectation to cover other campuses as and when needed. The Engineering department has in excess of 500 learners, including full-time, apprentice learners and a very popular commercial provision. The department employs over 30 staff who are deployed across our curriculum which covers Engineering (Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, Maintenance Eng. Instrumentation), and Automotive Technologies. For the outstanding candidate this is an excellent opportunity, not only to work at Cardiff and Vale College, but also to be part of a successful team.

 

The successful candidate will be able to deliver and assess on courses at differing levels, including but not limited to the following:

 

  • BTEC & EAL level 2/3 programmes full/part time
  • HNC/D Engineering programmes

 

The successful candidate must hold a professional qualification to a minimum of level 5 or above in Electrical Engineering. An A-level/equivalent in mathematics is also desirable. They must also have significant, relevant employment within the engineering industry and a strong working knowledge of Industrial Electrical Engineering , control systems, electromechanical systems, PLC’s and micro-controller systems. The successful candidate must also possess a PGCE or be willing to work towards obtaining one.  Further information available in the job description.
