Each of these sites has a unique identity and a common purpose to serve our communities, through sharing our collections and expertise. We are a place to explore the sea, space, art and history, and our strategy ‘Charting Our Course’ puts people at the core of its success.

Working within the Marketing team and reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Senior Digital Product Manager oversees RMG’s website products including the core website, collections online and microsites, currently attracting over 12 million visits per year. The role is responsible for shaping excellent online experiences to drive reach, revenue, reputation, and engagement across digital platforms.

Key elements of the post involve working with the Head of Marketing to define a long-term digital strategy, leading the development and continuous optimisation of RMG's digital products to maximise income and provide the best possible digital experience for our visitors. Further responsibilities include managing a range of external suppliers such as digital agencies, designers, and technical specialists, establishing a programme of product testing and research to understand user needs and behaviours, and delivering comprehensive reporting to evaluate digital product performance and provide recommendations for stakeholders across the museum.

The successful candidate will need to have significant proven experience in digital product management and delivery, preferably in the cultural, publishing or charity sector, and demonstrable experience of managing and delivering large scale, complex digital projects, using agile project practices, tools, and techniques throughout. The postholder will have excellent understanding and initiative of what makes a good digital experience, with the ability to think creatively and drive digital improvements. Strong organisational, strategic and interpersonal skills are desirable, with the ability to work with people at all levels of an organisation and build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

This is a full-time, permanent role in Band 4 - Senior Management and Senior Specialists. Core hours of work will be 36 per week, 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with an additional hour to be worked as agreed upon with management. Flexible/hybrid working options are available.
