The V&A is the world's leading museum of art, design and performance. We enrich people's lives by promoting the practice of design and increasing knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of the designed world. The V&A is popular with families. Backpacks, Trails and other self-directed resources are offered daily. At weekends and during school holidays, families can participate in a vibrant programme of art, craft, design, performance and digital activities, reaching an annual audience of over 70,000.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Programme Manager, Families, for a part-time permanent job share to join the Learning department and contribute to the delivery of the programme.

You will have experience of planning and delivering high quality family programmes in museums and/or galleries in response to permanent collections or temporary exhibition programmes. You will be skilled at building good working relationships across an institution and with external project partners. With strong making skills you will be up to date with contemporary art and design practice. Your administration skills will be excellent, and you will have experience of budgeting, reporting and evaluation and be able to work successfully to tight deadlines.

Working closely with the Programme Manager for Families and within the Family team, you will lead on specific holiday activities, the weekend making offer and be responsible for the daily management of everyday resources. You will ensure the operational running of the holiday programme which includes recruitment and supervision of event assistants and contractors.
