Royal Museums Greenwich (RMG) is a collection of diverse historical sites.  The sites are the National Maritime Museum; Cutty Sark; the Royal Observatory; and the Queen’s House.  Each of this site has a unique identity and a common purpose to serve our communities, through sharing our collections and expertise.  We are a place to explore the sea, space, art and history, and our new strategy ‘Charting Our Course’ puts our people at the core of its success.

Job title: Publishing Project Editor

Salary: £27.5K – £32k

Contract: Permanent

Location: Greenwich, London SE10 9NF

You are invited to apply for the post of Publishing Project Editor in the Commerce and Visitor Experience team.  The post holder will be reporting to the Publishing Manager.

You will be responsible for the project management of a range of publishing projects (collections titles, guidebooks, children’s titles, exhibition catalogues, academic books and digital products, etc.), under the guidance of the Publishing Manager and taking an active role in developing content and design of each title and seeing projects through to publication.  You will also liaise with Communications, Marketing, Digital and Retail departments, and marketing freelancers for promotion of publications, including preparation of sales sheets and blog material as well as monitoring income and expenditure for project budgets. Furthermore, you will also be responsible for providing editorial support for colleagues at the Museum.

You must have previous experience in working on publishing projects, ideally illustrated books, as well as experience in copywriting, copy-editing and proofreading.  You will also be required to be educated to degree level or equivalent.
