We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to progress their career in our DevOps team. You'll work as generalist across a wide variety of systems and services maintaining and the live running of our server and storage infrastructure, as well as assisting with a migration to a hybrid cloud/DC environment.

We are a marketing technology platform working with top online B2C brands across retail, travel and financial services. We are privately owned and have circa 100 employees. Essential skills include :
  • A strong Systems Administration background.
  • Experience with public and private clouds .eg.Azure, AWS, GCP, HCI.
  • Familiarity with standard data centre technologies such as Citrix Xen, NetApp ,MSA.
  • A strong desire to learn new skills and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with more than one flavour of Linux.
  • Experience with IAC tools eg. Ansible , Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi or Terragrunt. However, previous scripting experience with scripting eg. Bash, Korn etc. or python will also be considered.
  • A willingness to work in a fast-changing environment.
  • A keen interest in IAC and a desire to develop further in this area.
  • Experience of software SCM tools eg. GitLab, GitHub, CodebaseHQ, git.

Desirable skills include :

  • Previous experience with monitoring tools. Eg. Nagios, LibreNMS, ELK etc.
  • Previous experience of Linux patching, security and optimisation.
  • A sound understanding of networking, routing, firewalls and general client/server applications, such as the LAMP stack.
  • Regular application of server/OS patches etc.
  • Assist in integrating new applications and technologies into the current system. Working with software engineering and support functions to ensure a seamless integration.
  • Drive automation of repeatable tasks
  • Provide technical support for both hardware, software and RedEye application specific issues.
  • Assist with future Capacity planning.
  • Some familiarity with source code control solutions such as git.
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling eg. Jenkins.
  • Experience with any one of the following databases : MySQl, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle.
  • Broad knowledge of IT/Linux systems and technologies.
  • Someone who can work independently and can take ownership of issues, identifying root causes etc.
