The V&A is the world's leading museum of art, design and performance. We enrich people's lives by promoting the practice of design and increasing knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of the designed world. 

We are seeking an experienced sculpture conservator to join the V&A’s sculpture conservation team preparing objects for the Museum’s exciting and busy programme of new gallery developments, exhibitions, loans and collections care.

You will have a recognised qualification in sculpture conservation with an appropriate level of relevant post-graduation experience. You will have experience in planning, prioritising, delivering to deadlines and supervising staff and students. You will undertake all aspects of practical preventive and interventive conservation of sculpture objects and will have a practical knowledge of the relevant materials, inorganic and organic, including stone, terracotta, plaster, wood, polychrome surfaces, ivory and also modern materials. The ability to evaluate conservation problems, develop solutions and produce practical work and documentation of a high standard within tight deadlines will be important to making the role a success.

You will be highly self-motivated and able to organise your workload with the minimum of supervision. You will work independently or as part of a team within Conservation and across other departments and disciplines. You will have good interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate good communication skills, both verbal and written. An ability to express yourself clearly and appropriately to different audiences is important.
