Hethersett Academy

We are seeking a reliable, proactive and efficient Attendance Officer to join the team at Hethersett Academy.

The successful candidate will help our students achieve success by working with students, families, staff and other agencies to support and intervene with student attendance.

The role includes running our daily attendance monitoring processes, advising on development of the whole school approach to attendance, and casework with students and families in need of support. The role is fast-paced and demanding but also incredibly rewarding as you will be having a direct impact on the outcomes achieved by our students. Though a key part of this role is ensuring we comply with regulatory requirements and follow our rigorous processes, you also have ample opportunity to work directly with students and impact their success at school.

Experience of working in a similar role would be beneficial. You will be required to provide administrative and clerical support services to a high standard, supporting management, teachers, and students in an efficient, professional, and effective manner. This will involve organising and attending meetings with parents, Early Intervention Plans and Fast Track Panel meetings as required and liaising with the Norfolk County Council attendance team on a regular basis.

You will have excellent organisational skills and confidence in communicating with a range of different stakeholders, including students and parents.

We are part of the Inspiration Trust, twice ranked as the country’s top family of comprehensive schools for pupil progress, and strongly believe in the importance of giving the widest educational opportunities to all young people, regardless of their background. We have strong networks across the Trust, with opportunities to work with a diverse range of schools and partners. We are committed to offering excellent professional and learning opportunities for our staff, with a busy programme of continuing professional development courses delivered by some of the country’s best educational thinkers and practitioners.
