Employability Trainer – Bradford

Centrepoint is a national charity established in 1969 that supports homeless young people to get their lives back on track.  Our services for young people include housing, personal and social development and employability, with the overall aim of enabling them to secure a home, a skill and a sustainable future. The charity operates across eight regions and is honoured to have Prince William, HRH The Duke of Cambridge as its patron. As part of its strategy to support every young person with a home and a job Centrepoint has grown its Skills and Employability offer to support our aim of diversifying our income.

A key aspect of this, is the work that Centrepoint has been doing to deliver engaging ‘Routeways into Work’ programmes (funded via Traineeships and ESIF), which enable unemployed young people aged 19 – 24 years, to access the training and work experience they need to demonstrate their skills to recruiting employers and secure employment. For local businesses our programmes provide a low risk recruitment offer that attracts new talent and develops their workforce.   As a result of recent growth in our services we are recruiting for a Tutor to work across Bradford and Barnsley.

We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative and tenacious individual to join our team; offering a dynamic, responsive and flexible service that works to ensure the widest range of opportunities for all young people with a focus for those who need it most. We want to support young people by raising aspirations, achieving ambition and better integration/access of services for 16-25 year olds across Bradford and Barnsley.

You will be part of a team providing a high quality, dynamic, peripatetic and responsive service across Bradford and Barnsley. The programme is target driven and you will be responsible for delivering pre-employment programmes from Entry Level 3 to Level 2 focussing on Employability Skills, Customer Service, Health and Safety etc to young people in small groups and 1:1 creatively, energetically with a willingness to communicate your ideas to the wider team. You will have achieved your DTLLS, PGCE, or Cert. Ed.

The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering employability funded programmes, including group work sessions, accredited training programmes and planned activities. You will be used to achieving high quality standards and delivering operational targets and be able to meet the travel requirements of the role.

We seek to challenge discrimination and are committed to fairness and equality. We especially welcome applications from anyone with direct experience of being homeless or using young people’s services.
