We are seeking a part-time Research and Teaching Fellow to work on the V&A Research Institute’s project Encounters on the Shop Floor: Embodiment and the Knowledge of the Maker.
The Research and Teaching Fellow will be working in a small interdisciplinary team connected to other key stakeholders involved in the project. This is a lively and intellectually exciting arena in which to work, connecting a world-class museum, a leading UK university for science, engineering, medicine and business, and wider communities of academics, art and design practitioners, makers and performers through research and educational modelling. You will be supporting the creative development and implementation of a portfolio of research activities and events, innovative educational programmes, an edited book and a series of short films. You will be contributing your knowledge and expertise and develop your research and publication profile. The project is structured into four areas of activity and deliverables:
- Research – including research workshops and collaborative research and research-through-making activities
- Edited Book (Print and Digital)
- Research-led Educational Modelling – including UG and PG taught modules and workshops, summer schools, labs, student-led projects
- A series of Short Films underpinning the Edited Book
The VARI Research and Teaching Fellow – Encounters on the Shop Floor will focus on the project’s activity and deliverables, working closely with and taking direction from the Principal Investigator.
This is a part time role (25.5 hours per week and is fixed term until 26 February 2021
