The Development Team has overall responsibility for fundraising for Royal Museums Greenwich (RMG) that comprises the National Maritime Museum the Queen’s House, Royal Observatory Greenwich and the Cutty Sark. RMG cares for some of the UK’s most significant artistic, scientific and historical collections and historically important buildings and vessels. We raise vital support through relationships with companies, individuals, trusts and foundations and other grant giving bodies. 2020 will be an exciting year to join the team; having recently appointed a new RMG Director, we will have the opportunity to contribute to, and shape, our new vision, values and goals.

The Development Officer is a newly created role, which will make an important contribution to the success of the Development team. They will be responsible for fundraising with a focus on new and growing areas of income, including trusts and foundations, legacy and ‘In Celebration’ giving and lower to mid-level gifts from individuals. They will undertake donor stewardship, whilst also managing vital development processes and activities to support the fundraising of the wider team. The role includes researching and writing applications to trusts and foundations, identifying funding prospects, managing donor relationships, handling team finances, undertaking necessary office business management tasks and working at fundraising events. There will also be bespoke projects to undertake both individually, and with other members of the team.
