MK College Group have an exciting opportunity for an ESOL/Generalist Tutor to join the prison-based Education Team at HMP Elmley in Kent.

As an ESOL/Generalist Lecturer/Tutor, you will be actively engaging prison-based learners with creative classes and resources – core delivery would be ESOL but there would also be delivery of other subjects to meet the business needs. Many of the learners have a diverse range of needs and learning abilities, they will often have had a negative experience with education. As a successful ESOL/Generalist Tutor, you will truly inspire them and provide learners with a positive learning experience.

This role may involve outreach work outside of the main classroom setting. You will be connecting with learners in a professional manner, supporting them with their learning, enabling them to achieve success through not only qualifications, but developing the confidence and softer skills that they can apply to employment upon release as well as other areas within education the prison.

We are seeking an individual who can communicate well with learners to inspire and motivate them. The average class consists of 8 learners and the sessions are approximately 3 hours long. Your lessons will need to be adaptable, innovative, and imaginative.
