General

As Technical Proposals Engineer of James Fisher Marine Services (JFMS) you are responsible for preparing a qualitative tender document consisting of cost price, execution methodology, technical terms and conditions and risk analysis for offshore projects. This in such a way that a qualitative project can be delivered in compliance with company policies and industry standards.

 

You shall conduct business in an ethical and responsible manner, at all times serving the interest of the company. You will act in line with the JFMS corporate policies and procedures as laid down in the company policies and manuals.

 

You are responsible to timely involve the respective critical functions within your Business Unit and within the company in your day to day activities.


Main Responsibilities

The duties shall include but not be limited to: 

 

  • Receive and evaluate ITT as received from Client;
  • Draft Tender Plan and consult with Tender & Commercial Manager;
  • Compose a Tender Document based on template for Tender Document and according to Client requirements;
  • Responsible for the look and feel of the Tender Document and actively search for ways to improve in this area;
  • Provide an accurate cost calculation for the preparation and execution of a project using the Tender Budget Sheets
  • Prepare Risk Register according to Risk and Opportunity Checklist and Risk Analysis Input Sheet and provide input in Risk Assessment;
  • Co-ordinate required support from various departments (Finance, Assets & Operations, Projects, SHE-Q etc.);
  • Update Proposal Summary and Handover Document after completion of the Tender;
  • Request timely review of all documentation to relevant department and/or Tender/Commercial Manager.
  • Keep record of third party equipment prices and/or requirements;
  • Contribute to improvement of document templates;
  • Gather information from operational departments to improve tender standards.

Requirements

Experience:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree (Technical / Nautical);
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in the Survey Operations Offshore and/or Maritime industry, preferably in proposals and tenders/operations;

Skills:

  • Commercial and Innovative skills;
  • Excellent stakeholder management;
  • Pro-active approach towards knowledge gathering;
  • Language skills: English at a professional level.

 

Required to be fully conversant with the contents of (and its underlying documents):

  • The structure and use of the JFMS Management System.
Other tasks as directed by Tender or Commercial Manager

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor or Master Degree (Technical);
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant operational experience in the Oil & Gas, Renewable or Maritime Industry;
  • Knowledge of and Experience in Tender preparation (preferred);
  • Commercial Acumen
  • Excellent communication skills;
