We are seeking to appoint a Curator of 17th- and 18th-century Ceramics & Glass to join the Sculpture, Metalwork, Ceramics and Glass team.
You will form part of the team responsible for the care, research, display and interpretation of the collections of the Sculpture, Metalwork, Ceramics and Glass Department. You will be responsible for the collections of 17th- and 18th-century ceramics and glass. The extensive British and continental European 18th-century pottery and porcelain collections are nationally pre-eminent and of international importance, and you will be expected to represent the museum at the highest level and play an active role in the field of 18th-century studies and collecting, both nationally and internationally.
The successful candidate will have expertise in 18th-century design and decorative arts, and a demonstrable interest in ceramics and glass. You will have extensive museum experience including collections management and excellent organisational, interpersonal and writing skills as well as experience in research and publication. In addition, you will be comfortable working across collections, contributing to the V&A FuturePlan and exhibition projects, and cultivating and cementing good relations with external organisations and communities.
