We are seeking an experienced Psychological Therapist to provide psychological support to a group of people with complex mental health needs

The Assertive Contact & Engagement (ACE) Service within St Mungo’s, is an NHS commissioned service and is part of the Bristol Mental Health system.  ACE operates across Bristol, running a variety of services including therapeutic groups and drop-ins from three hubs as well as community outreach.

The service works with people with mental health needs who are not actively engaged with other mental health services.  Clients of the service are likely to have complex needs such as experiences that fit in the categorisations of personality disorders, psychosis and/or substance dependencies, and may have forensic histories.

As the post-holder, you will provide psychological interventions within the team; monitoring outcomes and modifying and adapting interventions.  Drawing on a range of theoretical options, you will also contribute to the development of ACE’s psychologically informed practice.  While as part of the psychological therapies team, you will contribute to the provision of a high quality system of support and consultation to the wider ACE team (e.g providing supervision and team formulation).

For this post, you should have Health or Social Care professional qualification (RMN, Dip OT, Clinical Psychology, Diploma in Social Work or equivalent) Postgraduate diploma in either CBT, CAT or DBT or equivalent Registration with an appropriate professional body.  You will also have Practitioner level knowledge of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and at least one other model of psychological therapy; in addition to knowledge of the theoretical and evidence base for these methods.

Other requirements include having the skills and ability to establish close and effective working relationships with others and experience of facilitating group supervisions as well as providing teaching and training to other professional groups.
