The V&A is the world’s leading museum of art, design and performance. Housing 2.3m objects that span 5000 years of human ingenuity, alongside a world-leading exhibition programme, the V&A is in the midst of an exciting expansion - launching multiple sites in London over the next five years, following the hugely successful launch of V&A Dundee. The V&A Communications team sits within the V&A’s Audiences, Digital and Commercial (ACD) division– a new area that brings together the V&A’s brand, marketing,
communications, visitor experience, CRM/ data, digital, publishing and commercial teams, across all of the V&A’s London sites. The V&A’s Communications Department is responsible for building the V&A brand through high-profile PR campaigns and partnerships for the V&A’s family of sites, that nurture audience relationships across the UK and globally, protect the V&A’s reputation and drive reach and revenue.

This role is being offered as a Public Relations and Communications Apprenticeship. Working closely with colleagues across the V&A Communications team, this position offers the chance to build professional communications skills and support the V&A’s world-class programme, from blockbuster exhibitions at South Kensington, to major broadcast and film projects, and the launch of the V&A’s new sites in East London. The role acts as a central point for the Communications Office – a first port of call for media contacting the team, has responsibility for office administration, and works closely with colleagues across the team to help deliver projects, campaigns, events and more.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start Communications career, as a Communications Apprentice you will have the opportunity to gain workplace skills and receive training to work towards a qualification equivalent to a foundation degree.
Apprentices must be at least 16 when they enroll on to the programme. Apprenticeships do not have an upper age limit and are open to both those at the beginning of a career or those looking for a career change. An Apprenticeship is open to those who have a degree already, however, to make sure that this is a worthwhile learning opportunity for you, you cannot have a qualification at the same level or higher in the same subject that you are applying for.
