We are seeking an Archives Assistant to join the Word & Image department part-time for 12 months (based at Blythe House).
The Archives section of the V&A’s Word & Image Department (WID) is responsible for archive collections (the Archive of Art and Design) and for institutional records and archives management (the V&A Archive and Registry). WID also encompasses the National Art Library, and collections of prints, drawings, paintings and digital art. As part of an accredited archive service we strive to provide the highest standards of records and archives management, while increasing the visibility and accessibility of our archives for the widest possible audience.
The Archives Assistant will work as part of the Archive of Art and Design (AAD) team, both onsite at Blythe House and working from home, in caring for the V&A’s archival collections. To contribute to collections management and documentation tasks associated with the decant of collections from Blythe House to the new Collections and Research Centre, V&A East. To contribute to the provision of public access and enquiry services to the AAD and other collections within the Word & Image Department.
This position will be part-time (21 hours per week).
