EDS Group is a leading authority in the design, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of high voltage windfarms. Mainly operating in the UK and Europe, EDS has been serving renewables for over a decade and impacting every stage of the wind farm lifecycle. 

As our HV Project Manager in the EDS Commissioning Business Unit you will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and safety. 
Your skills and expertise will be utilised across a range of domestic and international projects, starting in the bid phase, continuing through to award, start up and execution. You will be responsible for helping the business deliver projects in line with contractual obligations, ensuring that project risks are managed, and opportunities maximised throughout the contract lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a background in project management, project delivery, stakeholder management, engineering, electrical commissioning and High Voltage (HV) safety. 

The ideal candidate will be comfortable in taking the lead and executing established ‘best practice’ working practices, procedures and systems, supporting safe and effective execution of High Voltage commissioning on both onshore and offshore construction projects. The function responsibilities include, management of EDS commissioning scope, financial performance, ensuring implementation of work best practice and managing delivery of services in line with the client’s project schedule while providing a cost-effective service.

Key Accountabilities

•    Effectively manage operational delivery of large-scale projects in line with contractual obligations, these projects namely being EDS Commissioning Category A and B projects. Managing project teams and interfacing with the administration team to deliver to clients KPI’s whilst maintaining Health, Safety and Quality. Drive the delivery of the EDS scope on the project. 
•    Lead regular project meetings with Project Admin, Project Co-ordinators, HV Project Engineers, HV Project Engineers, Clients, and contractors to review project progress and resolve issues.
•    Ensure you receive a full and complete handover from the tendering team to understand the deliverables and scope as agreed in the contract and ensure that this is communicated to the commissioning team. 
•    Provide first pass project review of contracts to help ensure project execution and facilitation of resources. Create project schedules to align with successful delivery of the customer’s project master schedule.
•    Where appropriate, defining scope requirements, specifying procurement and logistical needs, identifying necessary team competencies, and mobilising teams, with the correct competencies to site accordingly for successful delivery.
•    Accountable for the activities and control of site management and operations. Ensuring that all employees and contractors employed within this area of responsibility are fully aware of their obligations and responsibilities.
•    To verify that all information provided by the client gives adequate instruction for the scope and contracted deliverables; advise the client of any deficiencies or clarification needed.
•    Ensuring that all EDS project activities have suitable and sufficient Risk Assessments and Method Statements in place.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential

•    Previous experience working as a Project Manager in the offshore wind industry.
•    Previous HV engineering experience in a project and/or operation-based environment.
•    Fully conversant with Project Management Systems with extensive knowledge of Commissioning practices and procedures.
•    Technical report writing skills.
•    Previous experience interfacing with a customer delivering a scope to an agreed schedule and budget. Focused and committed to achievement of project/company goals.
•    Previous experience defining technical specifications, conducting technical reviews of submissions and awarding procurement activities to preferred bidders.
•    Excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead teams across multiple projects.
•    Ability to manage interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, clients, suppliers etc.
•    Experience as a site leader of HSE culture and best practice.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and common IT practices.
•    Experience being independent and working remotely, with proficiency utilising video conferencing software (e.g. Skype/Teams) for team engagement.
•    Self-motivated and able to motivate others.
•    Valid Driving License.
•    Valid UK Passport.

Desirable

•    NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety
•    Experience as a Senior Authorised Person.
•    Previous experience installing, operating and maintaining HV infrastructure/systems.
•    Project Management qualification (PFQ, PMQ, PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent).
•    Previous experience in the construction/commissioning of primary and secondary systems on HV networks
•    Previous experience of the following testing methods: Insulation Resistance, Continuity, Time Domain Reflectometry, HV Bridge, Surge Wave Generator, Very Low Frequency, Damped Alternating Current Resonance, Line Resonance Analysis etc.
•    Basic knowledge of termination and testing process, its implementation and management
•    Ability to meet the requirements of GWO/O&G Offshore Medical and survival certificates.


Qualifications

•    It is desirable for candidates to be Degree qualified in an electrical engineering discipline; however demonstrable industry experience is equally valid in conjunction with applicable engineering qualifications.
