We are currently recruiting for a Sessional Service Manager for the Bridgend area.

We provide support to people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, older people, people with Autism and physical disabilities. We do that in a number of ways from providing 24-hour support within their own homes, to providing shorter, more focused support to assist with individual tasks or care needs, which are often determined in conjunction with Social Services. The people we support and their families are at the centre of what we do so we are looking for individuals who have the right skills, experience and ability to provide a high quality of support and care to really make a difference.

As Sessional Service Manager, you will have responsibility for managing the staff team and the service. This includes planning rotas, dealing with expense claims, management of staff and deputising in the Area Manager's absence. Please note that rota’s will be worked on a variable week which will include you working a combination of weekdays and weekends during which you will work evenings, unsociable hours (including bank holidays) and some split shifts.

This is a good opportunity for those looking to take the next step in their career. Previous management experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Candidate Specification:

  • A commitment to enabling people to live fulfilled and independent lives both within their homes and the wider community.
  • Ideally the successful candidate will have a QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, however candidates who hold a QCF level 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care will be required to achieve a Level 5 within one year of being appointed.
  • Good organisational skills and be able to prioritise your workload and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and networking skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels.
  • A flexible approach to work and the willingness and ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and also sleeping overnight at the service users home
  • Computer literate and have a thorough knowledge and experience of working with Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
